Just got a maze brain but...

I just got a small maze brain coral frag(pics later). Its really awesome. It is attached to a small rock. Should I just place the small rock on a bigger piece of rock that I have in the tank so the brain will grow on the large piece? Or should I just put it on the sand or something? Also I noticed that there is small starfish inbetween the rock and the brain. Do you think I should try and get the starfish out of there?

if its a maze brain coral, i would put it on the rock since the sand can irritate it.

Itd be good to place it on a rock and try to have it facing up towards the light

Sorry for the double post, and not getting up the pics yet. I dont think the brain as really become comfortable yet, because I had to move him around a couple times.I would like to feed him, but he hasnt extended his tentacles yet. Oh and the starfish is still inbetween the the brain and the rock it is attached to. Will this be a problem?
