I just got back. I went to buy a powerhead, but when I saw that they had 3 Vlamingii Tangs, I had to take one. He is about 5-6" long. Now, my main tank is currently in hypo, and I know the tanks at the LFS wernt in hypo. So I am acclimating him now, and I am wondering if I should do it REALLY slow, or normally? SInce he is going to be going into a hypo tank. Thanks!

Well you obviously want to do it VERY VERY slow then. You will stress the fish with that big of a salinity difference. I would acclimate the fish over 5 or 6 hours with the temp heated in the bucket.
Personally, I don't think it was a good idea to buy this fish knowing that you do not have an appropriate place to put him. Putting him in an ich infested tank is not a good idea.

There is no ich, It has been in hypo for a few days now, and I thought it would be good because then all of my fish could be in hypo, get ich free, and the tank would be free of it also. But I do have a heater in there. Thanks, and I will acclimate very slowly.

Well, you should have a heater in every tank. I was talking about heating the acclimation bucket, or floating the bag for quite some time to heat the water in the bag.
Also, there is still ich in there because you have only had it in hypo a few days.

lion crazz is saying that it can take up to 6 weeks for ich to fully die off using hypo. Normally 4 weeks will do it though.
Man, do you know how fast Vlamingi tangs grow and to what size? 2 feet is a whole lot of fish. If it is already 6" he will be needing that 300+ gallon tank in a matter of a year or so. Just a heads up. They are very awesome looking fish.

Well, my LFS has a 650g display, and they have a Vlamingi Tang in there that they have had for years, and it is maybe a little over a foot. But I was looking at him, and discovered that he has HLLE. So I will be off to the Diseases forums, and try to help him get cured of it. Thanks for all your help!
P.S. I acclimated him over night. So, he had plenty of time to get acclimated.
