So i wake up new years day to find tons of little squiggles swimming around. my horse had babies!
im guessing 60-150?
wow they are small!
So unfortunatly i wont be able to raise them.
Im not prepared, but here are some pix.
they are erectus.
Anddddddd... I just saw one of the girls re-fill.
So im due for another batch soon!
what can i do to raise these with the minimum of equipment?
i was thinking 5 gal or smaller with some sort of special foods. I know they'll be back.
here are some followed by one of my guys, (big black) hes the big daddy of the tank.

I have a long post somewhere on my babies. I made it to 6 weeks with them
Reef nut raises them also.
a 5 gal with a sponge filter is all you need. You need to do water changes everyday. Feed newly hatched brine shrimp for a few weeks. as they get older, you feed brine shrimp that are enriched and a few days old.
That should get you started.

Im looking at brine hatcheries now,
may get a bunch of eggs and some soda bottles
I kinda want to do this to see how far i can get, maybe put the larger ones in my own tank.

Congrats Daddy mac.....

I have been thru 4 broods of bangai cardinals and still have not mastered it, but best of luck. You must be doing something right just for them to breed though.

Sueandherzoo had an interesting plan with a breeder net in the DT. I wonder how that went?
Im looking at this like a science project.
getting brine eggs tommorow, and seeing how my homemade hatchery works.
Also i believe i have northern erectus, pelagic fry, as i didnt see them hitch on anything. at what age do they hitch?
also looked at the kriesel type method, which may become the way to do it after a few tries but the in tank netting cube seems like an awfully easy idea. and the waste would be easliy absorbed in the dt.
