my boyfriend and i are looking at engagment rings, its the most exciteing moment of my life so far, his sister just got her engagment ring about a week ago and its so beautiful and i guess it got my boyfriend thinking its about time, ohhhhh its just so exciting

haha i already have a book full of ideas that i want to do for the wedding whenever it is, every so often ill through in an idea in a casual conversation just to see what the reaction is
i asked him what he wanted in a wedding and his idea was shot to the ground, he wanted it to be in the middle of a lake with pontune (sp?) boats all around, uuu thats not every little girls dream wedding

congtats! i just got engaged in april! i just want to warn you that there is going to be alot of stress in planning the wedding! my fieance(sp?) and i are getting so much grief from her mother! her mom wants to pick everything out!

Well, let's see. About the ring. Coming from a gum-ball machine is sweet, and some jewelers expect that. When we got my ring, the jeweler was sure to remind us that we could trade it in for full value to upgrade, in 5 years or whenever we wanted!!
I was shocked! Who "trades in" their engagement ring for a bigger or more expensive one??
Anyway, if Sho is right and your 18, then plan, plan and plan some more. Just don't do it yet... "If you love him enough now, you will love him in 10 years." That's from my good ol' pop.
Good advice if you ask me.
Either way, good luck with it all, sounds like you will say yes. Hope he doesn't read the boards.

Not sure if they can be found online, or if they are in your area.

My wife never got an engagement ring (although she has made up for it in many other ways. i.e. QVC, etc.)

I told her you can have a ring and we can keep living in this tiny apartment or we can buy a house. I'm glad she's partical. She picked the house of her dreams. It was a great decision because the very next year the house almost doubled in price.
When I retire (death), she can finally get her ring.
