Just how stupid am I???

I recently changed substrate in my tank 55g FOWLRLS (3 wks). Since I have removed all the CC and all the bad stuff in there the tank has been great! The downside of all this is I also removed a lot of good stuff.
So in an effort to replace the good critters I purchased a pound of critters,pods, algea,etc. from the famous auction site. My first purchase.
I was told that it would ship on Mon. it is now thurs. My question is how long will this sand last during shipping? Should I use it, put in quaritine?
Or will it DOA?
Again just how stupid am I:nervous: ?

I have nothing! I'm waiting on a return email. I don't even know how it is going to be shipped! Should have asked more questions (stupid)
It was from a store and their feedback was very good. I'm just concerned. After all the work I've done rehabing this old tank I don't want to kill everything!
Any one else?

Everything should live, depending on temp. They should ship it w/ a heat pack. I wouldnt worry too much.

i got corals from a auction site on a wensday and the guy didnt ship till the next monday so it wasnt sittin in the warehouse over the weekend. maybe thats what happen? and if not its only sand im sure it will be ok with a heat pack. dont worry. u can get a refund if dead im sure. smell it before u put it in ur tank.

Yeah, I got the same reply about the Monday thing and that's OK and I understand the reason why. My issue is I purchased the sand 2-16 now 2 monday's have gone past and nothing. I'm just upset b/c I have good luck with other things that I got off ---- without a problem. This is the first Fishy thing and it's suposed to be alive. It's prolly OK I'm just nervous.:nervous:
I just want to know what's go'in on!

Well since it has been that long the algea and sand will be fine. Most places leave sand on the shelf for up to 12 months with no ill effects. But for that long for the live critters I dont know.

The seller didn't happen to be Jonathan19 by chance?
Just wondering because I was going to buy live sand from him, but after emailing twice to get a shipping quote I never did get a response. Decided I wasn't going to buy from someone who couldn't even return an email.

For some reason that name rings a bell but that's not where a bought my stuff. I think I also e-mailed him (jonathan) about sand. Was it loose in a tank and selling by 25lbs or so? I didn't get a responce for several days and others had gotten back to me so I when with them. My major LS is Caribsea fiji pink and that's on back order at least I know where/what is going on!
The item that I'm waitng for is only 2lbs of "booster". It's now Fri and still nothing. I really don't want to send a "Nasty Gram" but what else can I do?

Next time search his feedback and make sure there are alot of ppl saying prompt delivery and excellent replies to emails quick or something the same. Alot of ppl will get stuff late and are happy to get it that they leave a good feedback but will make sure to note late delivery.
