NOT THE ULTRA FINE STUFF BUT PRETTY FINE. PINK SAND..IS 3 TO 3.5 INCHES ENOUGH DEPTH ON THIS BED TO ACT AS A FILTRATION SYSTEM? THANKS FOR REPLIES..

Well 3-6 inches is the trademark in depth so I would think your 3 should be fine. In my tank I've got about 3 inches and haven't had any problems yet(knock on wood). I Might add some more in the future but for now it's doing it's job.
