Just Ordered Aqua Illumination SOL Blue LED's

Been waiting a while for them because they have been back ordered but finally they arrived. They will be shipped out tomorrow so I am hoping to get them real soon. Will post everything about them wwhen I get them. Going on a hanging kit and will be suspnded approximately 12" from water.

Jstdv8, I know if you check over at RC there was a thread on the AI and someone did take readings of the units....They were rather impressive to say the least.

Im pretty Pysched! Just have to see how to hang this unit. Never hung a lighting unit before. Any helpful hints?

I read quite a ways into that thread that was called AI Par readings, or something liek that, but I never did fin where anyone actually gave out any numbers for what the lights were doing at different depths in the water.

To be honest I really do not know much about Par readings but I can tell you this. Speaking to AI representative he advised me that with these new Sol Blue's that I would only need two units over my 120. The whites that they had before the blues, I would have needed 4. He said that these blues are much more intense and four would be too much. So with that I bought only two Sol Blues. He stated that they are strong enough to handle any coral as long as the unit is suspended approximately 12" off of water. We shall see. It was music to my ears though because it cut my cost in half.

I was just browsing the threads over on the other side, and I remembered you saying this, but right on the very first page there are numbers/readings given on the fixture....

ha, very first post. don't know how I missed that.
amazing there is that much difference between the two fixtures when they both use 3w LED's just shows how awesome cree's are I guess.

Had to change the time on the controller to spring forward for time change. Does not change automatically.
