I ordered the book "The Conscientious Marine Aquarist" from Amazon and it arrived today. :cheer: I heard it was "the" book to get and I'm thankful to whoever told me to get it on Amazon. At the lfs store the book was $40+, but on Amazon it was $26. My goal is to have my 125 gal. tank by the end of January. Hopefully by then I'll be ready to start.
I CAN'T WAIT!!!

That book is excellent. It is still the book I refer to when I need to look up something or if someone is looking for a great marine book.
Post any and all questions you may have.

I certainly wish I had done it the way you have chosen to...book first! Good for you!
BTW, in Mesa, do you know Steve who drives the snowplow in the winter? Or, he used to?

Snowplow? In Mesa, Arizona?! We only see snow in pictures around here!

WOOHOO! I need to get a hold of that book--I've heard it's the saltwater Bible!
I'm going to try to stop by Aquarium Arts after I get off work. I'll let you know how that goes!

I'm trying so hard to be patient and learn all I can before I set up my tank, so hopefully I will avoid the "newbie" mistakes, though I'm sure I'll make plenty of them. But oh, it's so hard to be patient.
As far as Steve who drives a snowplow, No, can't say that I've seen him. Not like I could miss a snowplow in the middle of the desert!
But, now that I think about it, I think I've heard about him. I'll have to keep an eye out for him now.
(Oh, by the way, love your "name." Horses are my passion. Used to show my Arabian Horse, but sold him almost a year ago. Hope to get back into it soon.)

It's a great book. Only gotten a little ways with it and I love it! Don't buy it at Aquarium Arts though, go to Amazon. Enjoy your tour of that store though, and let me know what you think.

That's what I have, the paper back. Didn't know there was a hardcover, though I prefer paper back. I paid a total of $26.37, and NO SHIPPING CHARGE!!!! That's because I chose the slowest time frame, but I still got it in like 5 days. Definitley worth it.
