Not of my 55, but it was my turn to feed this tank so I snapped some shots. To my surprise we have a Moorish Idol now.

Very nice. You rarely see an sps tank that has the room to let colonies grow that large. That Monti cap is huge as are some of the other peices in there. Very nice tank.

WOW MAN. What are the specs on this tank? It's beautiful you are lucky to be able to take care of it! Where's it at? Do you work for a pet store or something? Awesome bro.

Thanks. The tank measures 96"x42"x30" (525gal) and is here at Penn State in the Hetzel-Union-Building. I'm one of the volunteers that helps out along with a few members of the faculty like Sanjay Joshi.

Beautiful tank. Can you tell me a bit about your experience with the idol? How long have you had it? What are you feeding? Any problems that you've noticed thus far? Thanks.

Well, when I walked past the tank yesterday afternoon it wasn't there, and when I fed the tank this morning it was.
It looks like it's in pretty good health; nice coloration, plump, fins intact. Someone must have QTed it before hand. It's about 4" long not included the streamer.
Normal feeding includes cyclopeeze, mysis, nori, and either flake or pellet. It didn't seem too interested in any of that, but then again it is probably still adjusted. I know that they usually feed on coraline and sponges in the wild. Some people have had luck with finely chopped fozen foods like squid, clam, shrimp, and live mysis and brine too.
Overall it's pretty docile. Our Imperator angel does go after it though, so we'll see what happens...
Good luck. You have a pair right?

What I really like about your tank is that it looks so real, honestly looks like somebody took the pics on a diving trip...Looks awesome

No, the pair didn't work too well as one started to beat up the other until it died. However the stronger of the two is doing great... eating everything and getting nice and fat.

I like it too. Whoever reaquascaped it did a fantastic job. Several small mounds with plenty of space all around them for fish and colonies to fill in. The tank was featured in some online magazing, not sure if it was reefkeeping or not. It's hard to get a FTS with my phone and be far enough away without getting in people's way.

As long as the powers that be are fine with it I can have anything I want.
I just don't have room for anything anymore....
