i bought a canopy today that included 4 vhos, 2 400 watt metal halide moguls, moonlights, and tempature controlled fans for like 150 dollars without the ballasts.
the guy ringing me up was telling me that i needed a ballasts and he was trying to sale me the box and everything for like 250 bucks just for the dual halide electronic ballast.
then i looked on hellolights . com, and seen a 400 watt elec ballast for like 79 bucks but it was one i had to wire and it didnt have the on off switch bow, so every time i wanted to run it i would have to just plug it in
i was wondering is this ok????
and for the metal halide that i do have i do have a on off switch ballast box, and i was wondering if i run it to a timer will the timer turn the metal halide on and off with the balllast box switch always being on and be ok????
