And Darthtang, I'm officially reliquishing my man-card. I cried like a baby at the end when they had to put him down. It killed me.
We have a yellow lab and he's getting older, so it struck a lot of nerves inside me, since I'm going to have to do the same exact thing in a few years.
Maybe that makes me more of a man though? I mean, he lost his dog - man's best friend - does that mean I can KEEP my man card? Is it one of those few times that men are allowed to cry?

i think it ok for a man to cry. my whole life i showed little emotion cuz of my situations i grew up with, but after being with my g/f i relized its ok to cry in certain situations. have you ever seen john q and think about if you had to do that for your child. it would suck. i have a dog and thats the reason i will not watch marley and me cuz of that. i love my dog and i don't even want to think of it yet.

YOTN, it's hilarious that you just posted this. I just finished watching this movie for the first time. Not at all what I expected. Really good movie. I also shed a couple tears at the end, when the kids were reading their letters.
How funny was it when the dog started humping the obedience trainer...

Weird, I literally just finished watching this movie 5 minutes ago.
Good movie. Cried at the end. I would recommend it for everyone.
Coral, you are to young to fully understand the meaning and the point to the extent this movie was trying to get across......therefore of course you didn't cry.

the ads were sure misleading .
my wife dragged me to see it at the show.
i had to sit there and listen to her cry through most of the film.
all i thought was i thought this was a kids movie?
we had to put our mastiff and rotty down a few months before we seen the movie and the part where they were loading the dog in the truck was just about the way we did it and it got to me .we have 5 dogs now and our akita is slowing down pretty bad and have to to go through this again pretty soon.
definitly modern day old yeller.

I don't watch movies like that. I won't see this movie and I have never seen Titanic either.
I really try to stay away from the depressing ones.

Looks like all men who cried about the movie in this forum gets their mancard revoked.
There's a new sheriff in town. :p

Being the owner of a Yellow Lab and having to put down 2 dogs in the past I can't bring myself to watch this movie.
Mancards are over rated anyway ..

What's up with the man card thing? Real men do cry.

That holds as much water as Perez H1lton calling another guy a "queen".
