Since a Quarantine/medical tank is such a necessity and the ability to get it up to speed fast is so critical, what about running a feed from your drain line to feed the tank. Attach a ball valve on it and then you can close it off when needing to be quarantined. This way it would be immediately available with aged water. There could be a seperate ball valve or a pump in it to drain the water out and let the tank air dry once the fish has been removed. I would think anything in the tank wouldnt survive a bout of air would it?
Details would need to be ironed out of course, but in principle anyway, how does this idea strike ya?

sounds good to me except for needing established filtration but you could replace that with water changes.
