Keep It Clean

One more question.
I have about 35-40 pounds of live rock in my 75 gallon tank right now. I know that's not nearly enough, so I'm planning on buying the 40 pound package from saltwaterfish.com. Also, I have quite an algae problem at the moment, and I'm planning on buying the "Keep It Clean" package as well. I want to get the "Keep It Clean" package first to hurry up and get control on my algae. Will it be OK with only 35-40 pounds of rock, or should I get all my live rock first. Maybe I should get a cleanup-crew for a smaller tank until I get more live rock? Also, is it safe to add that much rock or that many crabs, snails, brittle stars, etc. to the tank all at once??
I'd really like to get all the rock and scavengers all at once, but the $$$ is kind of a problem. The "Keep It Clean" package is also a little more within my budget right now than the 40 pounds of live rock. This is not a cheap hobby. I'm worried my wife will want a divorce if I spend $300 all at once on rocks, snails, and crabs!!
Anyways, thanks for your advice. Sorry my questions are always so long, but there's a lot of stuff I'm confused about -- I'm still fairly new to the reef stuff.
