I have a ten gallon, with a coralife 50/50(20 watt) a skilter and a biowheel. All readings are near zero(ammonia, nitrate etc.) I have a perc clown and a pseudo in the tank right now and was thinking of adding a hammer coral. Any advice for aor against this idea?

By no means am I an expert in nano reefs. There have been several post in the past here on them. Do a search for them and you should find some good links for nano's. Sorry for the lame answer.

I would look into a nother bulb before getting a hammer. They do need medium to strong light to stay healthy. I have two in my tank and love em/ and would suggest you get one. Just I personally would would want stronger lighting.

I have a huge hammar coral in my 80 gal. it is very hardy. you should give it strong lighting and some water circulation. Mine closses up whenever a fish swims by but soon opens up again. Give it a lot of room because it grows very fast. <img src="graemlins//freak.gif" border="0" alt="[freak]" />

When you say that your readings are almost 0 that means that they are not. Inverterbrates require a little bit better water quaility than fish and in a nano reef water quality is important because in a tank that small, anything and everything will go wrong with just a little mishap. I would definately go with more lighting also. If your going by the watt per gal rule you only have 2 per gal right now I would shoot for at least 3.5 and to tell you the truth I'd probably go a little more just to be on the safe side. HTH

If you plan for the sweeper tenticals that they can put out. I would find something less aggressive if it were me.
