Yeah Zeovit and Prodibio are two products, or systems I should call them, that increase the amount of bacteria in the tank which breakdown more of the nutrients.
They are based on the ultra low nutrient system theory. Then you balance the low nutrients by adding amino acids, trace elements and other foods for the corals themselves.
Also, there is the vodka and sugar method.
But honestly, you'll see so many more tanks on -- or other locations that are amazing that just use proper husbandry to get their results without needing Zeovit or other zeolitic methods.

I never knew that about those products. Ive just seen their names tossed around. Funny how the last couple of TOTM over there have not used products like that, just kept it natural

Thanks. I'm thinking in investing in some really expensive montipora's(bright colored not the washed out ones you see around) and hoped to keep them healthy and colorful.

What type of lighting do you have, and what is your bioload like? From what I've seen, highly populated tanks (but well skimmed and maintained) have deeper, richers colors than SPS in pretty empty tanks. Lighting also has a lot to do with the way the color looks. I have only seen bright pink birdsnests under T5ho, very rarely is the color as nice under halides.
IMO the neon colors you get from using something like ZEOvit just aren't that natural. I mean they're pretty don't get me wrong, but I havn't seen pictures of fluorescent blue Acroporas in natural reefs. You shouldn't need ZEOvit or Prodibio to get nice colors from your SPS, but that's just my opinion.

I agree. They can look bleached too. The water is so nutrient scarce that the zooanthelle algae in the polyps is lighter in color, so the coral is almost starving. But the aminos feed it and so the coral is happy. The water is scrubbed so clean that the light is stronger on the corals as well.
Those systems do get some amazing colors, but with a proper system, they are totally unnecessary.

Another thing that will give you great colors is pristine water quality. You still need some nitrates for the corals to use, same goes for phosphates.
