Keeping Water at Proper Temperature

I have completed the initial setup of a 36 gallon bow front saltwater tank. The temperatue has remained around 82-84 degrees. I have unplugged the heater and have kept the top opened to try and cool the H2O.
The area gets no direct sunlight, I guess the house is just not cool enough. Anyone have any suggestions on how to keep the water at the proper levels without having to buy an expensive chiller?
Thanks

What kind of lighting do you have? Some things that help are lots of surface movement and all around circulation in general. Another thing that helps is to have a fan blowing across the top of the water. I wouldn't get too concerned with those temps, though, 84 is getting on the higher side.

The lighting is regular fluorescent lighting. I haven't put the light on at all (there are no fish in tank yet). I plugged in the heater (It will only go on when the threshhold in temp. is hit anyway)
What kind of fan could I point at water? I do have the Maxi Jet circulating the water.
