I have a light fixture for my reef tank that uses 2 175w, 20000k bulbs. I have found 15000k, brand name bulbs for much cheaper. Should I buy them, or fork out the money for the 20k's? Which helps the coral grow faster? Which looks better?

Just for your info, the lower K bulbs increase coral growth, higher K increase color.
Some people that propagate coral for sale us the 6700 or 10k bulbs to help their frags grow and then a few weeks prior to sale they will run the 20k's to color them up for sale.
Normally people use a14k which kind of gives the best of both worlds.

If those happen to be XM 15K lamps the PAR is pathetic on them, even lower than their 20K lamps.
