Does anyone knows if a Kenia tree can sting mushrooms? I have one Kenia on the same rock that has my red mushrooms and I am noticing that the 'shrooms near the tree aren't doing well. :help: :help: :help: :help: :help:

I have heard that Kenya trees dont bother other corals and such. I have a Kenya tree right beside my zoos with no problems.

Well the only mushrooms affected are the one next to the Kenia so that is why i was wondering....If i have to how can I remove the Kenia? Just cut it?

There is a picture. As you can see the borders of the mushrooms near the Kenia are white.

If it has a staulk you can just cut it, and attach it to a new rock.
But don't be surprised if where you cut it from doesn't grow a new one.

So why the hedges near the Kenia are shriveling and turning white?

Kenya trees are a very non agressive coral. It is highly more likely that the mushrooms would do in the tree. What other corals are near the mushroos? There could be chemical warfare going on between your corals that you can not see. If everything is still opening and doing well I would let it be.

mushrooms can kill corals on opposite sides of the tank if there are enough them. I have a kenya tree touching my yellow fiji leather and have no issues. however I have a mushrooms that kill anything within a 5 inch radius. They are massivly big and are taking over fast!!

I have never heard or read of kenya tree corals or mushroom corals stinging anything. It could be that your mushroom is coming into contact with the kenya tree and just doesn't like it. Corals tend to retract when they contact other corals, even if no stinging is occuring.
