My lfs told me i need to use kent marine nano reef to buff my tank dialy. it seems kinda excessive. Is this true and also wht do you guys use to keep a piece of coral from fall off my rock.

no, kent marine whatever is not required, actually i think most people agree that supplements on nanos should be kept to a minimum
pH can change quite a bit, however as long as you're buffering the water you're doing water changes with, you should not need to buffer the tank

I agree dosing any nano tank is IMO dangerous and if you do weekly water changes (recomended) of 10 to 15% you are replacing all your trace elements that get depleted anyway. Getting a good salt to mix with your RO water adds most of all the essential trace elements to your tank. Although your PH may rin off a bit by the time the weeks up it also flucutates from morning to night too. And with a water change so frequently there is really no need to worry IMO.

hmm that stuff doesnt add any chemicals to the tank???? Do i take the coral out and put some ont he rock its on and then place it on my lr?? And whats good salt for the tank?? I just use mortans salt! hah just kidden no but whats good brand?

I use Oceanic's brand from what i am told its one of the better brands because it has more trace elements in it than some others. There is another out there that is supposedly the best but its very expensive and I cant remember the name of it.
