Kenya Tree Coral

I got my kenya tree coral in the mail yesterday. It looks powdery blue/grey and doesn't seem to want to stand up. Laying drooped over and has yet to stand up.
Is this normal? should I be trying something different?

keep an eye on that coral. they spread like wildfire and also release toxins that can and will kill sps corals.
I tried for years to keep sps alive and all would die within a few days. I removed all my kenya trees ran carbon for a month and a few waterchanges and haven't lost a coral yet. If your just going with softys you shouldn't have a problem.

My 2 little kenya trees are now big and dropping babies like crazy. A fellow reefer calls them sting weed. I have about 10 to get rid of from small to pretty darn big now.

I only have 2 corals at the moment and they are in 125 gallons of water. The new Kenya tree and my Cabbage Leather. I am not certain of how the cabbage is doing though. It stands up just fine and has all sorts of frills. The kenya is still laying over though I did try to move it to a spot thats got more active water flow near a Koralia #1 so that it gently moves a bit.
The lighting its under is 180 watts 40 watt Actinic, 40 watt 10k and 100watt 6500k

Check on what you want to have in your tank down the road. It's OK for those 2 corals. For a 125gal tank that's not a lot of light. Your only pushing 1.44watts per gal of water and that's fine for low light coral, but if you plan on doing more colorful pieces down the line you might want to look into upgrading your lights. As stated above Kenya trees grow like weeds I have them growing in one of my sumps because I can't give them away fast enough.

Actually I have them setup as tiny growing tanks. Each tank is only 10 inches deep and 15 inches wide. They are all plumbed down into one big 40 gallon sump and I have a total of 7 tanks 6 of them 11 gallons per tank and one that's 33 but still all tanks are only 10 inch deep tanks.
This is what I have. Our Local walmart was getting rid of them and doing away with fish and tossing these in the trash. So for a VERY low price of $200 each I got 2 of them both with built in chillers, heat and UV. I wanted to try to use them to raise lower light corals since they are outfitted with the old t-12 lights. I've added into each one 1 100watt 6500k and a 40 watt actinic and 40 watt 10k
mind you these are not mine exactly. Mine have 6 separate tanks above and 1 large tank on the bottom

It's doing fine to me, give it time. I had a heater short out and took about a month for mien to look "nomral" (as in the pictures on how they look when sold). They can change appearances several times a day as well.
