Kenya Tree (Everywhere)

About three months ago I purchased a tiny kenya tree for $9.99 actually it was fragged for me. It was about one inch when fully opened. Then about two months later I purchased another Kenya tree it was probably and Im guessing by looking at the rate my first one has grown about a year old. I placed the two next to each other and they have been brushing up against each other for about a month now. Maybe just coincidence because I'm unfamiliar with the reproduction cycle of Kenya trees, but now I have kenya frags all over the place. I can't keep up with the rate that they are reproducing or breaking off. In two weeks I have fourteen excluding the two originals. I can see about four more branches that will probably be separated this evening. I think it is awesome because they are all doing well. I attached a few to frags of live rock. Some attached themselves wherever they drifted. I'll try to get some pictures. Maybe the lfs will trade something? Anyone have any input on Kenya tree reproduction?

It seems when you rub two things together they reproduce!
Just kidding they reproduce by budding and if they are budding you have the right environment for them good job
. Most LFS will not give you much credit for them if any at all
They are prolific breeders under the right conditions. I had one it turned into ohh I dont know about 30 or so. I like the look of it but it was crowding out everything else. I took it all out
You paid 9.99 same price I paid so if thats common price the lfs is going to on a good day (ie if they have none or are very low) give you about 10% or .99/ frag.
I thought a tank with that and zoos would be really cool. Maybe throw a couple of seahorses in and a manderian. I dont know about the coral compatibility with the horses but just an idea I had when I saw mine start growing like crazy.

Kenya trees can reproduce quickly in the right conditions but they are pretty easily controlled. You can just pull them off of the rock and get rid of them or turn them into frags. I have a plastic tray in my fuge with some rubble in it, when my kenya tree drops branches I just toss them in the tray and let them attatch to the rubble then I usually give them away or take them to the LFS usually don't get much for them.
