I have had this frag since Dec. 07 and it is the only coral that has not grown. I mean it looks the same as the day I got it. What is it, I was told it was a kenya tree but then some others say a colt. It wont grow either!!!!

have you tried moving it around in the tank, increased it's flow or lighting? what ever it is it doesn't seem happy.

No I have not tried moving it. Heck I dont even know what it is to know what it needs. Its in medium flow a little over half way up under HO T5.

Okay Ive decided it's a not happy kenya tree. Should have brown polyp type stuff coming out. I guess I need to add it to the list of target feed plankton corals. Hope it can pull through!!

I dont think thats a kenya if it is I have never seen a kenya like that even once its fragged down to a base I have never seen one come back with out the arms that the get the name of tree from.
I would say that its a leather of some sort but which I am unsure of till it comes out some more.

That's all it ever looked like though, with the exception of brown polyps that come out. When the lights come on at first it shrinks up then extends and what you see is all I've ever seen.

i would try to move it to a higher flow area. judging from the cyanobacteria all around where you have it now its not getting enough flow

yeah I would increase the flow as mentioned.
How big is the frag there really isnt anything to compare it to but it resembles a finger leather to me rather than a kenya tree coral.

Well it is about 1 1/2 inches tall and about 1/2 inch wide. I currently only have 1 maxi jet mod turned on. The other is off because it keeps creating a sand storm but that is a whole nother beast. I need to put panty hose over the other MJ to knock it down a bit but it is in my near plans.
You think more flow will help it? I just wish I knew what it was. It came in a frag pack and I was told it was a kenya but again it's the only thing in my whole tank that has not grown. I currently have clams, sps, zoos, palya, and LPS and all or thriving but this!!

well something isnt working where its at so moveing it is the best option to find a place that it will thrive in.
by your description I really really dont think its a kenya tree.

Do you suggest down lower in the tank or higher? And can I just cut at the base to remove?
