Does Kick ich work? And is it ok to use in a tank with anenomes, Hermits & cleaner shrimp? It say it has no copper. My lfs guy swears by it. I would like to keep some on hand just in case. Since Hypo is not an alternitive in my tank. Thanks.

Well I guess hypo would not be an option in my reef either. So hmmm. Look for cure in a bottle and hope it works or setup a Q-tank and do the proved hypo treatment? I choose Q-tank and hypo with use of refractometer if at all possible.
Can Kick Ick work? Sure, maybe. I just hate dumping chemcials in my tank though. Many times it will appear that a cure in a bottle will work, and don't get me wrong, sometimes they may help.
Lets put it this way, which would you want to use. A proven treatement to break the ick life cycle and cure your fish that has a higher success rate then hit or miss bottled cures. Or a bottle cure that you hope works?
If possible I would setup a 10 gal Q-Tank, follow the directions on hypo and feel more confident that I have done the best I could for the critters I care for.

When I first started sw, I used kick ich successfully. However, I've only heard of it working for one other person besides me. Do a search in this forum for it. There was a discussion a few months back on it. Overall, I wouldn't use or rely on it, and after hearing other board members experiences with it. I won't use it again.
Also remember it requires you to remove all carbon filtration and I believe turn your skimmer off for 2-3 week duration of using it. Alot of negatives for something that his a wild card on whether it will work.

Kick Ich worked well for me, but I used it for an entire month to make sure it was gone. It only kills in the swimming stage, and not the cyst stage....the cysts can live in the sand for at least three weeks. The bottle says use for two weeks and may be repeated for two more. Even if you don't see any spots for a couple of weeks, use it for an entire month or it may easily come back. It did not hurt any corals or shrimp or my biofilter. Remember to remove all carbon type filters or it will remove some of the medicine. Lesley
