Kick ICK

I need advice on how to get rid of ick.I talked to my lfs and he recommended two products,KICK ICK and Paragaurd. He said that the kick ick only seemed to work about 50% of the time.I was wondering if anyone has had any success with this product? The paragaurd I will have to remoce all of my live rock, snails, corals ect...just leaving the fish.Im sure this is probably the best solution but I have no other tank to use as a hospital or to move all my other stuff out of the ick tank. Please help with any suggestions and other products,or techniques that have worked for you. Thanks :(

hey sorry to hear that but.....
I just went through the same thing and the best thing that worked for me was adding as many cleaner shirmp as possible 7 for me, also i used a reef safe chem and it killed all but one fish. bummer ha never use that again. by the way i think they got it due to a fiesty damsel that was stressing everone and one got it and spread it to others, so anyway good luck.

coral beauty.........what fish do you have and how many? Also whats the water chemistry of your system like? I've only had to deal with one small out break of ick shortly after adding a very nice coral beauty. To treat it I stsrted adding garlic to my food on a daily basis for approximately 2 weeks. In no time the coral beauty began to improve and by the end of 2 weeks showed no signs of infection and none of the other fish ever had a problem. I used fresh garlic cloves.....crushed them and added a lil tank water...let it soak for about a hour then drain water in container with fish food.......feed the tank with the food/garlic mixture. Even now I do this about once a week simply to be on the safe side and to help build the fish immune ststems.

I had a very serious outbreak which affected my beloved Sohal and also my Yellow and two Percs. Kick Ich seemed a waste of time (and money. Instead I slowly brought my SG way down and temp up... I did not lose a single fish... all are very well now... phew.... (I say this having lost fish using Kick Ich)

Kick Ich DIDN'T work for me either. I had a Clown Tang with Ich, and it ended up dying after the Kick Ich treatment. Don't waste your time or money.

I have a 135 gal reef tank.It had several fish with Ick, that I could not catch and didn't want to dismantle tank.I had several mushrooms, Ricordia,Flower leather coral, feather dusters, and daisy polyp.I added Kick Ick and Garlic food and the spots all disappeared within a week during the 15 day treatment.Of the regular Mushrooms only the thicker rough mushrooms in brown and green survived. The blues and reds(thinner membrane) died. The rest of the corals did fine.I am staying with Ricordia and Leather Corals in case I need to treat with it again.I would use it again.I continue to use the Garlic food.
