Killer Zombie Snail?

I recently walked into my room to find my zombie snail eating my dead anemone crab. My crab had been doing fine so it was a surprise to find him dead. I am wondering if the zombie snail (narcissus snail) could have in any way killed my anemone crab.

If the snail is a Nassarius, it did NOT kill your crab. However, there are many predatory whelks out there, and some, such as Illyanassa obsoleta, are frequently sold as Nassarius sp.
More likely, your crab gave up the ghost and the snail did what it does best...eat carrion.
