on saturday when i got my zoa frag i picked up a "spiral plating coral" monti cap like frag i didnt get an exact name anyway it was like a nuclear metalic green like a candy cane but it was half covered in another frag so just a lil green shown throught so for 8$ i said ill take it he said it didnt need mh and my lighting would suport it once again for 8$ why not. any way i get home and cant tell which side is up and which side is down, so needless to say i glued it upside down so should i flip it or will it correct itself?

you glued the cap upside down?
depending on how much are you glued it may or may not come back. Is there a way you can get some light to the bottom of the frag and about how big is the frag?

Not being sarcastic, but how do you know it's upsidedown now, if you were unsure before? Can you get a pic of it? Are both sides the same color? There should still be some sort of upward growth giving an indication to which side is North.

depends on how its fragged on how easy it is to see sides. some are teh same color back and front other are one main color and a whitich color on teh back because there are no polyps on the underside of the cap.
I want a purple, red, and a green cap for my tank.

You are right....I forgot that a "frag" could be anything in size, including just a 'chip off the ole block'. So if it's that small, it is a guessing game.

just the edge is glued. there was a crevis and the cap sliped in so lil glue was needed. i dont think getting any much less enuff light to the bottom of the frag is an option its maybe a 1inX1in frag

well seeing as how the cap was half covered by another fag it was pretty bleached out and during the transport it lost a lil color so both sides looked white but, last night while i was examining my open brain during its night cycle my flashlight caught the botom of the frag and i saw green and was like
i glued it upside down
but the frag was a lil darker grey/brown on one side so i figured that was down but i was wrong
thanx for the quick responses

if you can get it off and reglue it right side up I would it will have more of a chance of growing that way. upside down I wouldnt expect it to live long.

ok i will flip it tomorrow. but i figured like a plant it would grow towards the light and correct itself (no need to disturb if not needed) right. thanx mike i prolly shouldnt have waited so long to ask

corals are different they cant just turn around they have to grow a new skeleton towards the light and it could take some time for that to happen. it most cases it would take way to long and the coral wouldnt make it.
