KNOP or CPR Bak-Pak Skimmer

I was thinking of upgrading my skimmer and found these two skimmers for around $100 and was wanting some ideas on which would be better I have a 55 gallon fo tank

I love my Knop hang on skimmer. I did upgrade my pump to a Maxi-Jet 1200 though. I hate Rio's. Well at least using them on a skimmer. I like the longer contact time of water and air the Knop provides. If you run a Maxi-Jet pump you use the venturi adapter used on a Sea Clone. I know that makes it sound cheesy but it's the only way to make a Maxi-Jet work on a venturi type skimmer. If you put a air valve on the end of the air tube going to pump then a 3 foot piece of air tube on the other side of air valve it will act as a muffler and your Knop will run super quiet. I don't think a CPR will run as quiet or efficient.

I've heard a lot of good stuff about the Bak Pak II, and I plan to use one when I set up my 55 in September. The Bio-Bale will provide most of the bio-filtration until I get enough live rocks in there. I will also use live sand.
