Sorry, mine is the DX6490, and as nice as it is I would still like to know how to take those beautiful, detailed, close-ups................
So far I have tried all of the different settings on the dial but I haven't looked to see if I can do anything manually. I'm gonna have to find my manual and see I guess.

Its hit or miss with my C743. It will focus in perfect, but not long enough to get a shot off usually, just the luck of the draw even on macro

Well I took the plunge. After looking for the past 5 months for the right one I sure hope this Kodak Z712IS does not let me down. I have been playing with it a bit and will post pictures soon.
This camera reminds me of my SLR Canon Rebel Film camera, but in a compact size. It has all the features and more than my SLR and even runs like an SLR. I call it my "mini SLR"
My first digital a Sony 3.2MP 3X Opt Zoom I was wanting something with a much stronger zoom and Image Stablization too. Everything out in the compact concentrates on the mexapixels it seem.
So after much reviews and digging this is what I have been looking for and I hope with the 7.1MP and the 12X Optical Zoom it will not disappoint me.
