kole tang needs help

i jus added maxi jet 1200 power head to my tank, my kole tang was fine now he has ick, or white dots all over him.. what should i do? why is he so stressed everyone else is fine?? can someone help

It might be too much current for him to handle in the tank? Just a thought
What size tank is it you may want to try a smaller less powerful powerhead.

i dunno, ive been watchin him actually jus now and it might not be my powerhead it seems he likes it, hes swimming like a foot in front of it. not so much swimmin but letting his body ride the current.. he seems at peace. i did do a 5 gallon water change yesterday and have been harvasting all this plant stuff i have? which my hands are in the tank.. u think after a few days he'll relax and the stress spots will go away?

Possibly, Koles are pretty hardy tangs and can usually take a lil stress. I would just keep your hands out of the tank for a bit and just watch him. He should calm down hopefully if he doesn't then I would think about switching out the power head for a lower flow one.

How new is the tang? Was the replacement water the same temp? I made the mistake of rushing the water (too cold) gave my newly added ( 1 week) tang ick and it died.

If this is your case, I would qt and treat asap. I waited and watched , just my 2cents. Good luck.

the tang has beeen with me for over 6months doing excellent! u kno i dont ever warm the water that i add? i never thought it would stress any of the guys out,. its usually kinda cold? u think thats what happened? 5gallons into a 55? do they really feel the change hmmmmmm
