Koralia vs maxi-jet ecomod

Ok I started with a koralia 1 a mj 1200 and a 400. I ordered a koralia 3 and a ecomod for the mj. The k 3 was a big step up from the 1. I havea 65 g tank if this helps. The one was about the same as the mj 1200 it was spread out better than the mj 1200.So I put in the k 3 and the k 1. Today I got my mod kit. OMG. I put it on the 1200 even they say it not rated for it now. The mj 1200 will cavitate some. It was a little noisey too. I put it on the mj 400 and it was perfect. It put out more than the koralia 3 Not a ton more but a noticable difference. It claims to be 10x more. which would put it about 1040gph, the k3 puts out a rated 850 gph and the k 1 around 390 i believe. The downside is that the ecomod didnt come with a mount for the mj pump. I am thinking of just aking it off my k1 and retro fitting it. I am still amazed at the output of the mj400 . this is day one I will have one on one side and the other on the other. Maybe i ll add some pic s tomorrow. Great mod for the $$$ paid 19.99. If you want to use your old mj pumps this is the way to go. Very happy with the mod.

Ok well i got hte ecomod'd mj 400 mounted and in hte tank. It moves a lot of water. I tool a few pics so you all could see. My tank is a little cloudy with all the sand settling ect... well here are a few pics. Enjoy.

Thought I would throw some tank shots in too. I have been getting rid of a few things to make room for some new stuff. I now have a quiet one 4000 rated at 1017 gph for my sump. a h koralia 3 rated at 850 and athis mj 4oo with mod rated at 1040 gph/ Not too bad in a 65 . I have them pointed towards the fromt glass as to not blow everything around. Seems to be ok. Only day one.

I am not sure if anyone even cares but the mj with mod had to come out. It was just putting out too much flow for my tank. My tank only being 36 in long i think is a big part of it. If I had a 48 or longer tank that I could point this thing across it would be better. I am going with the k 1 and k3 for now. I will be making a mount for the mj that will be better as well. I ll just hold onto it for now.
