l/r question

i have read here before, not too long ago, that there is an additive that you can add to the water (i think it began with a "K") to make your l/r grow purple corraline on it. what is this stuff and how well does it work?

the answer is kalkwasser, but it only works as a suppliment, you need a good calcium first

I'm not sure what he means by you need good calcium first. I do know that I add kalkwasser to our 55gl (lr already had some coralline so maybe that's what he means?) and i can see the coral line growing. So it works. I add about a gl over a week. I'm going to make a diy drip (hopefully this weekend).

oh... that's kalkwasser, but if u get something like "Kent Marine- Calcium" and it will have the same effect
