What's the going price for a 220 Gallon Aquarium. A store I checked said 1000 bucks this is for the tank, glass top, and light. Is this a rip? Anyone know any good places to buy around MN?

This will be used as an fish only tank (puffers, tangs, trigger) No brand preference. I want to have it drilled.

What are the dimensions you're looking for in the 220? For comparison's sake, I've seen the 210 gallon AGA Megaflow with glass tops and NO lights for around $600 at a few shops near me.
I don't know of any shops in MN, but if you ever get near the Milwaukee, WI area, there is a large store in Oconomowoc called Aquatic World that sells tanks (I know they carry Perfecto, Oceanic, AGA, Great Lakes, and a few regional acrylic lines) at near-wholesale prices.

I got My AGA 210 drilled with Mega flows for $530...
I cut out the Mega Flows and added two Tidepool clear standup overflows...
They're Made in Wisconsin, West Bend I believe...So you might be able to drive over and get one for less...

I actually moved to River Falls Wisconsin a few months ago. I still need to change my Saltwaterfish Info.
As for the dimensions, I'm not looking for anything specific, I'm assuming there is standard dimensions .
Does anyone have the contact info for some of these places?
The place I called for the tank quote was "World of Fish." Now hearing what the "normal" price for a 220 tank is, they are probably grossly overcharging. The guy made them sound like a very good deal too. The price doesn't really surprise me because they overcharge on most of their fish also. Like selling a "Vampire Niger" for roughly 200 $ and claiming it was a rarerity. Correct me if I'm wrong, but don't all Niger Triggers get red fangs eventually. Anyway...
I get to Milwaukee a lot as my fiancé's parents live there. If anyone has any more helpful information, I'd love to hear. Thanks!

Irenicus look into Glasscages. they build and deliver to local fish and reptile expos at very reasonable prices. Im picking up my 50 high this Sunday at a local show and from what Ive seen and heard these are nice tanks.

Yeah, I know Ed. I used to work at Something Fishy for a brief stint and I've never seen them sell anything bigger than a 125. Have they sold bigger before?

I don't know anyone from World of Fish. But that is the place where the 220 was $999, for the tank top and light. A little outrageous I think now seeing some the answers from this post.

Sorry to resurrect this post. I just wanted to know if anyone else has any more useful information.. Places that offer fair/cheap prices on 210-240 gallon aquariums. Preferably in the Twin Cities / Milwuake area.
THANKS SO MUCH FOR YOUR HELP EVERYONE!

I was online reading about that cop that saved that lady on the bridge in Green Bay and found in the classified area that a store called Aquatic World is selling tanks right now for $1 a gallon

Funny I just got off the phone with them today pricing some tanks. They quoted me 650 for a 210 gallon. I'm going to call and inquire about that... perhaps the 210 doesn't apply.
The prices are very competitive there however and they have some extrodinary deals.
