Large Toadstool not extending tentacles

I have a large toadstool leather that was extending its tentacles, but has stopped for about five days. Tried a water change, no luck. Water quality is good. Any thoughts? Should I be concerned?

As long as it's not turning black or decaying it's fine. May be shedding, is the top shiny? Water change just would have pissed it off again and prolonged it opening most likely, toadstools will live through anything but are also very touchy to change and react by closing up. I usually don't bother with mine unless they stay closed up for a few weeks, then I will move them or change the flow and that normally works. But don't go moving them all over the place nonstop because they will never open.

They do not like strong water flow, Have you put any phosphate reducing chemical in the water table? The aluminum based ones they do not like either. And like said before, they could be shedding. (they look like crap when they do this)

I think you guys are right about the shedding. When I looked at on Sunday, it had this clear stringy substance billowing away from it and later that day, the tentacles were out bigger than ever. Thanks
