Largest Fish

I'm curious what the largest fish is that people have successfully kept in their tank and how long they have had it.
I have a 12" blonde naso and a 10" queen angel. I have had the queen for a couple of years. I have only had the naso for a couple of months, but the previous owner raised it from 2". He had it for about 3 years.
What is the life expectancy for a fish such as a tang or an angel?
One of these days I'm going to get around to setting my 240 up in salt and I will move the fish to that. They seem quite content in the 125 in the meantime.
To anyone considering keeping a tang in a small tank dont. They grow quite large and they definately need swimming space. The naso swims laps around the tank all day long. Sometimes I think he is training for the olympics. It is something to watch; he has a set route that he follows. Down the front, through the live rock cave, across the back, under the powerhead and back around.

I'm not sure about size on these fish. But I do know that some Angels can live 60 years or longer, but you have to assume that the life expectantcy of these fish are based on the one's that live in the wild. I would assume that if kept in the right conditions that these fish would probably meet that life expectantcy or surpass it because they will not have any natural predators in a reef tank.

:happyfish I believe hippo tangs live for 10+ years, and are one of the longest lived fish, I think, but don't quote me on it. As for a large fish in captivity I would say Parrot fish, or groupers for sure, as they get HUGE!!! -ali

11 inch sohal beast..had him for almost 3 years. Recently traded in to LFS for 100. Great deal for everyone as he was sold in 3 days for double the price. Those who passed up on him when offerred on this site missed out on a great deal and a great fish if you had at least a 125g. Got rid of him because I'm consolidating tanks and had to keep my fav fish (powder blue tang). They would never get along being from the same family.
