Well, he's leaving me on Thursday. It's been awesome having this guy for the past few years but... sniff... they grow up so fast.

How big is your tank? And you don't seem to have a lot of rock.
BTW, how do you catch a shark? And how do you bag it?!

The tank's 225 gallons. I have a couple of rock structures but you're right, there's not much in the display... just enough for a couple caves. I have another 100 lbs in the fuge.
You can catch a shark with a large net, or with bare hands. I've done both. I wouldn't bag any fish this large. To transport, you really need some type of bin.

I've thought about it. Actually, I've been offered an egg from when this one breeds. But then in a couple years, I'm in the same position where I either have to upgrade or find another great home for a shark that has outgrown my tank. We'll see. Actually next summer I was thinking about plumbing my tank into a 500-600 gallon sump in the basement. I could put a couple sharks and rays in there. But for now, if I want another pup, I'll go with a coral cat or marbled cat.

Nice Epaulette.
Sorry to hear that you have to get rid of it. But it is for the best.
And yes - a 500 to 600 gallon pond would be much better for these sharks.

WHERE is the shark going?
And how the heck do you transport something like that?
(I'm a newbie so I'm full of questions, sorry.)
I see really big eels at the LFS and always wonder how the heck they get from the LFS to as customer's tank. I'm sure they don't put them in a little plastic bag.

usually fish of that size are transported in bins of some kind. The bins are filled partly with water, but still have enough air space to allow O2 exchange for about 24 hrs, during shipping.

Well my shark's gone.
I feel so lost and empty inside. Anyone know where his new owner can get a female epp? I at least want to see him getting some action in his new home.
