it is a Florida ricordia. Very easy to care for and come in a good variety of colors. You can really color a tank up with them. Unfortunatly on the average they are kind of pricey.

Great colors in that ric. Where is a good place to set them in a tank? I've read both low light and intense light. Sorry for hijacking and thanks for your help.

I pretty much have them all over. Floridas are easy and do well in just about any conditions as long as water quality is good, it is yumas that are picky about where you place them. They don't care for strong flow and do well under high light once they acclimate to it. They don't do well touching most other types of corals, especially mushrooms, though they do quite well with Florida ricordias and I find it best to place them where they can touch another ricordia, especially when first introduced to your tank.

Ive been looking for some rics like that....They are sweet...I just got some Green edge with green mouth and purple and pink centers. I got 8 polyps for $80.
I feed mine phyto, mysis, brine, and cyclopese. I spot feed them a couple times a week...they will pretty much eat anything they can fit in their mouths.

Only yumas so far. The zoanthids don't seem to mind FL ricordias but stay closed if yumas touch them.

I spot fed my larger ricordea yuma a mysis shrimp today. The outer edges rose up and enclosed the center of the ricordea. As this are my first ricordea's, is this normal and how they feed? Is their mouth in the center of the petal?
Also, I tried to feed my green ricordea a mysis as well, but it showed no reaction and the mysis didn't stick to it. I tried several times to no avail. They were only placed in the tank Thursday. Today was the only day I have gave them full light. They went into the tank Thursday evening, partial light yesterday and full today. Any thoughts?

Sometimes they eat and other times they don't. Normal and nothing to worry about
