Lava Rock?

I have a 75 gal. saltwater fish only tank. I have treated my tank with cupermine in the past and live rock will not do so well, so can I put lava rock in my tank. Will this cause any problems?
thanks
Jim

Generally speaking it's not a good idea to use volcanic rock. It can be loaded with minerals, metals, & other stuff. Using it adds a lot of unknown variables into your system.

can you recommend another type of rock i can use. I'd hate to waste the money on the live rock just to watch it die.

Just find some aragonite base rock, it shouldn't be more that 3 dollars a pound.
As far as lava rock, think about this. What is lava? It's molten magma. What is magma? It is melted minerals, METAL and other things from the core of the earth. I personally wouldn't put in the same room as my tanks.

Look for Tufta or Lace rock, both of these can be used and are nice porus rock that will become LR eventually if seeded with LR.
