They are natural grazers, and should be in a 55 gal. minimum.
IMO anything 30g or over is fine

Right, but they list the minimum tank size for the juvenile fish that they ship. The sizes listed are not the minimum for the fish to thrive and, in this case, be able to find natural food.

I had a full grown adult male in a 26g and he has been fine for over two years now. Really you just need to make sure that they have ample algal growth to graze on. Brad, have you ever tried feeding him mysis or blood worms? Just a suggestion.
I put one in my 150 to battle my hair aglae growth he was 2 inches long when I put him in 3 months ago he is now 3 inches and so fat he can not even sit on his fins he rolls on his BELLY.
Thought that this forum was for agressive fish ~ My Red Lips blenny nips my hand when I have it in the tank. Darn thing is supposed to be a grazer too! lol...

if there is plenty of algae growth and the fish isn't skinny, than i wouldn't add seaweed. yes it can increase nitrates if you let it rot. don't leave the stuff in the clip for more than half a day.
