Lawnmower Blenny NOT a peaceful fish

My Lawnmower has badly beaten up my Goby. The Goby isn't going to make it, half of its body has been shredded by the Lawnmwer. I am very diaapointed and sad. I feel horrible for the peaceful Goby and am angry that I thought I was getting a peaceful fish ( the LMB). Not quite sure what to do with the Blenny at this point, and thinking of the putting the Goby out of its misery, but I do not know if I can bring myself to that either.

when i first got my LMB he was a little agressive but never tried to nip or bite any of my other fish. that is pretty strange. Sorry to hear about your goby. You should take him back to your LFS and tell them what happened, see if they'll give you a credit for another goby or something.
Did the LMB have enough food?

I couldn't put it out of its misery either, always get my hubby to do the dirty deed. Sorry to hear this.

They were both new to the tank- first additions. I did a lot of reading on this board reguarding the LMB and never came across any stories of aggression. I searched on the net today and come to find out some of them have a real nasty streak. You just never know I guess. They can be very territorial. I am upset by the loss of the Goby and will not add another as long as the LMB is alive. The poor pistol shrimp just lost it's buddy.
Still trying to get the Lawnmower to eat algae sheets. No dice yet. If he doesn't take to eating something besides algae on my glas he may not be around too much longer either. Very frustrated by this hobby today. I have lost a duster, an emerald crab and the Goby within days. The crab was eaten by a hermit after his molt.
