lazy sandsifting star ???

I've got 2 sandsifting stars in my 75 gal tank and one keeps moving on top of the other and staying there for several days. If I move him to the other side of the tank he is back on top of the other in a couple hours. Mating, fighting, or just to lazy to walk on his own?

Starfish don't mate so that is not the reason. Maybe something in the sand is really bothering him or like you said, he is lazy and doesn't feel like eating.

I didn't think they mated, but he won't stay off the other. It sometimes takes him less than an hour to find and mount the larger one.
