i am just a novice in this hobby with a 4 month old 30 gal. i have a 10 gal that i like to convert to a refugium. can anyone start me off with some general advice on what type of pump and valves i might need for a system this small. i plan to start off with some macroalgae, a live rock, 2 or 3 inches of live sand, some snails and pods. any opinions?

there is more info on this BB than you can read in a day about refugium. my advise is to do a search of this BB for it. i did one on refugium last week and read about it for 2hrs and didn't even scrach the surface of all the info. lol

I have a 46 gallon bow with a 10 gallon refugium. I have aCPR50 overflow box running down to the tank, w/ a Bak Pak skimmer in the fuge. I have about 15 lbs of good live sand w/ about 5 lbs of live rock and some grape colerpa. then I have a tank divider blocking off the return pump. My return pump is a CA 1800 w/ a ball valve from a rio pump to slow flow( you don't need this big of a pump). At the end I have an AMiracle return elbow with a small hole drilled in it at the water line to stop back siphon(very important)

I also have my heater and my Liter Meter top off system in there as well as a light.
