Leafy Sea Dragon

Does anyone have a leafy sea dragon? My hubby and I were just talking about possibly setting up a seahorse tank in the distant future and remembered seeing these leafy dragons at a large public aquarium. They are so beautiful and interesting. Just curious if anyone has any info on them.

They aren't available for hobbyists.
We just got 5 leafies and 9 weedies here at the Steinhart Aquarium in Cali recently, but heck I'm just a volunteer. :)

Glad to hear about the Seattle SH exhibit. Last time we were up there, the SA was being remodelled...time to go back!

we used to have them at the pittsburgh zoo but i believe they all died. probably not the greatest of ideas to put an easily stressed animal in glass tube with little kids pounding on it huh??

I just took a very recent trip to Hawaii and the aquarium at Wikki had them and they were the first in the world to tank raise these guys. So they may become available to aquarist at some point. I wouild not hold your breath, but it's just a thought. They are extremely fasinating.
