leather coral has white scars or

i just discovereed my yellow leather coral has white milky scars on two of its fingers and they seem to be spreading. i've never fragged or cut one so i dont know what a damaged ones ******** "flesh looks like. should i remove the small portion of the finger it's on to stop spreading or is it from a fish nipping? i dont know if a coral beauty or tang would go after a leather. help !dont want a disease spreading if it is one.

the white discoloration is on the surface but is destroying the polyp heads as it progresses. i have lugols and a suggestion was a sw dip with the iodine for five mins then quick fw dip and back to dt. should i cut diseased parts before returning to tank?
