Leather Coral Question

I have a leather coral - about 2 months now. Every now and then these stringy things come off of it and float to the top of the tank. I could not get a picture of the stringy stuff. I attached some picures of the leather coral, I think it looks healthy and just want to see what you people thought.

Leathers will get a slime coat over them from time to time. If you have good water movement it will help the coral to sluff this off. I would assume that the stringy stuff is part of that slime coat. I wouldnt worry about it. I have been wrong before but thats what it sounds like to me.

No problem, I have a leather and it covered itself in that slime coat for about 2 weeks. Thought I killed it but it came back. A good thing to do in this hobby is anytime you see something change from the everyday norm you probably should test your water parameters to make sure nothing there is causing the change. Your tank inhabitants can tell you a lot about your water conditions if you watch closely. Hope that helps and you have a good day as well.
