Hi, my first post hope someone can help, i purchased a lobed leather and it was fine for 2-3 days then shrank and turned a purple green color with no polyp extension, been that way for 6 days, is this normal or is it sick? water parameters are good, running 110w of pcs on 29 gallon. coral is about 8 inches from the top.

Hiya,
sounds like he's unhappy. Mine shrinks up too when he doesn't like where he is. Try moving him to another place.

leathers are funny. they will look beautiful for a couple of days and then all of a sudden they will shrink up and look like they are gonna die for maybe even a couple of weeks. then...it will shed its slime coat and look beautiful again. my advice...give it time and maybe it will come back. i think they also like a moderately higher water flow area so that there slime coat can get washed off. JMO take it or leave it

well after a hermit munched off all the waxy coating on it i thought for sure it was doomed, much to my suprise the next day it started showing signs of recovery, all in a reefs day i guess.
