Leather Feeding?

I've got either a devil or finger leather.. not really sure which one... I estimate that the diameter of the center of the coral, (not including the fingers) when it is fully bloomed, is about 4-5 inches... I feed Kent Microvert formula, however I really have no idea how much I should be feeding... Right now I estimate I feed about 40 drops directly onto the coral when it is fully bloomed, about 2 or 3 times a week... The Kent product says 1-3 drops per gallon 3 times per week... But I've only got this one coral, so I really don't trust their advice.. When I feed, I turn off my filter and powerhead for about 10 minutes to allow for the formula to create as much of a cloud around the coral as possible...
Any feedback as to the proper dosage and frequency of feeding is GREATLY appreciated...

Honestly you shouldn't have to feed them at all given you have sufficient lighting. I spot feed a few of my sps/lps corals and my leathers indirectly get fed but it would be just fine without the spot feedings as well.
As long as you get polyp extention and looks happy.. it is :)

my lighting is pretty weak... it sits directly under 65 watts (the tank has a total of 90 watts)... i have it up near the top... it looks good and I have polyp extension... It opens and closes a couple times a day, which I find odd.. I've had some problems controlling nitrates over the past couple weeks, and during that time the leather did NOT look good... Now I've got things under control and it looks about as healthy as I can remember...

leathers dont need feeding at all. the waste produced by ur livestocks will be enough for ur corals.
