Leather only opens for a few hours a day?

I recently upgraded my skimmer and lighting(bulbs) and my leather coral only seems to open up fully for the first few hours the lights are on, then he pulls his polyps in. I only have my lights on for 8 hrs., is he just adjusting to the new bulbs? Just curious?

are you talking about a toadstool leather?
It probably is just getting used to the lights. Mine would hide for a week or two when getting adjusted.
How is your flow in the tank?
