a few questions about this coral...
1-it is from this site (swf.com)
2- they do not supply the scientific name
3-where is the best place for this coral ?
4- is this coral aggresive ?
5-what kind of flow/lighting does this need to thrive ?

they like medium flow and light. but the light will depend on what kind u hv.

Tell me yo did not get a colored one though. I believe they are dyed.

Medium to High. You do not want the branches to whip about, but they should sway gently in the current(excepting the short branched forms) Curent should not be a tight stream directed on the coral. Random current patterens will be appreciated by the coral. Proper flow helps ensure removal of excess mucus and aids during shedding.

Lighting
Sinularia can adapt to all ranges of lighting that are considered acceptable for corals. Medium lighting produces better results then low however. Adjusting the coral to high lighting should be done slowly. Colors, such as green, in some species are more pronounced with actinics.

it's a regular tree leather frag I got at the LFS it has a purple hint to the branches but its not like the colored ones from swf.com
are they aggressive ?

they r not aggressive. they will release chemical so running hv lps or sps away from it. runing carbon occasonally will help.

Goodness, I didn't know the colored ones from swf.com wer dyed. I bought one. I asked them where to place them after I got it. They said center of tank medium light. And I have Metal Halides. The tips have turned from pink to white. I wonder if that has to do with it being dyed or the bright lights. I wish I had known this.

I placed it in a hole of a monti encrusted rock...will this coral harm the monti ?

nycobb the green and blue coral in your avitar are monti caps ? how did you get green and blue mine came red... ? and my monti encrusted coral was purple/brown and all shades of purple and so far so good...I must get the green and blue corals what are they called ? they are truely beautiful.

the green monti is all i'm missing..i'm looking for that one but can not seem to find it anywhere. do they sell it on this site i saw monti caps but i ordered one and got the red one....
