Leaving Hopsital Going Back Home

1) When we want to put our fish back into the Main tank from QT I've heard I could slowly lift a tupperware container underneath instead of a net. The net could snag, remove slime, etc. and the tupperware would allow to stay floating and maybe not be as stressed out and could drift back into Main tank slowly. What do you think?
2) If my QT has copper I guess this is out. To much water/copper back into main system?? If I put holes into the tupper ware cont. for drainage in QT then the fish would lay there as I lift into the Main tank. Just as bad as a net right??
I could use some Ideas as I have a Hippo Blue I just saved and is now very healthy (Maybe) only to loose my Heniochus Bfy.:notsure:

What were you treating the hippo for? And what's wrong with your b-fly? I'm assuming that since you mentioned copper you are treating for ich, correct? You cannot treat fish for ich by removing them one at a time. As long as a fish remains in the tank, the ich will have something to host. You must leave the tank completely fishless for at least a month, and treat ALL the fish in QT.
With regards to putting your fish back into your display, this has worked for me. I always catch fish with a clean plastic ice-cream pail. Since the fish will need to be acclimated back to the display, I set-up a drip line just as I do with a normal acclimation. Or you can just add very small amounts of tank water to the pail every 10 minutes. When the pail gets full, remove half the water and continue. I repeat this several times, takes a few hours. After that I remove as much of the water from the pail as possible, leaving just enough for the fish to be covered and transfer that to the tank. Usually the fish will swim out of the pail without having to dump it out.
Any help?:notsure:

The hippo was new to my display - looked perfect from store they had in tank for 2 months ate good, attentive, colors, eyes and so on.
I put directly into display (It seems to be so debatable on stress) I know QT for me always again, takes some people longer to get things ya know, anyway the Heni got some ick but the hippo got something else. I know ick pretty well I've had freshwater fish over 30 yrs. Hence my name for the forums -Saltfin- I enjoyed the column a while back on how we all came up with our names,
Sorry- ah the hippo had an external parasite of some type, 6 each along dorsal different sizes then one bigger one looked really anchored in to his/her r side and one underneath. the big ones were about 3/32 dia. but sorta oval round maybe and the dorsal ones were maybe 1/32 to 1/16 or so and they all stuck out 1/16 to 1/8 and were white. I could see them get smaller after a week in the QT copper and now they are gone. Dori -I know- eates great Garlic soaked frozed shrimp her dorsal pops up with excitement and she gets very busy. Been in QT almost 3 wks. I actually saved someone I'm really proud. I lost Heni and an arci to the ick just got to bad and I wasn't prepared enought. I'm going to run a QT 25/8 from now on with mollies. Yes I'll keep them and not just use for cycle. I'm going nutzzz water changes in QT from Main tank catching up on meds resaltine and adding new water back to display you know. Always deciding - always learning. The main display has looked good and 2 yel tangs, maroon cln. yes I'll be carefull of the ick cycle. I like the ice cream idea. That will be the way I'll do it. Thanks alot! Sorry for the Noval
