Has anyone heard of or used any lights from CT Lighting Co. someone has told me the could get me a 48w led light for $150. I am looking for a light for my 29g reef so i can start getting some corals. i only have around $200 to get a new light not really sure what to get. I have asked around and i get lost of different answers so know i am very confused.

I've seen people running their led grow lights on algae scrubbers but I haven't seen anyone running one of their aquarium fixtures. It looks like the one's that they are selling for aquariums are using 2 watt Epistar leds. If that's the case then the fixture that you're looking at would probably work fine in your case for your tank. But I don't see any 48w aquarium lights on their website so it's impossible to say for certain whether the fixture that you are considering will work for you or not.

with $200 ur limited to DIY kits or cheaper fixtures, u could get two par bulbs with 60deg or 80deg optics but imo u should save another $100-$150 and get a nice unit ull enjoy for some time...ive found out nothing is cheap in this hobby lol.
or if u save the money and get 3-4 bulbs with 60deg optics ull be premo... or a nice fixture lol...
i started on my 36gal with a oddesey fixture and ati bulbs...

whats the size of your tank? $150 for 48W led aquarium light is not expensive. One of my friend bought some led aquriums light for his tanks a few days ago, its only $150 for each one. and he send some pics to me, such as following one :)
